Z-Wave 800 Series Dual Outdoor Smart Plug Complete Reference

⏱️

30-SECOND SUMMARY

Quick overview of hardware design, presets, and electrical capability.

The Minoston MP24Z is an outdoor Z-Wave 800 Series dual-outlet plug designed for reliable, secure control of two exterior loads. Operating at 908.42 MHz, it delivers 15A/1,875W across both outlets and exposes each socket as an independent endpoint inside an IP65 housing. With Z-Wave Long Range support, it can reach up to 1,300 feet when paired with a compatible LR hub in ideal conditions. S2 authenticated security and SmartStart simplify secure setup, while ETL listing and FCC Part 15B provide added peace of mind. Compatible with Z-Wave hubs such as SmartThings, Hubitat, Home Assistant, it switches two circuits separately or together.

Physical Installation & Safety

⚠️
INSTALLATION & SAFETY CHECKLIST: 1 Both outlet share 15A 1875W 2 Not for Honeywell / Ring / ClareHome / Vivint 3 GFCI outlet, vertical mount
01

Step 1: Choose the Right Location

Mount on a GFCI-protected outlet under an overhang, at least 2 ft above grade and clear of standing water.

02

Step 2: Mount the Plug

Hook the keyhole slot over the supplied screw and anchor so the receptacles face down.

03

Step 3: Connect the Load

Plug the two loads into the left and right outlets and keep their combined draw within 15 A / 1875 W.

04

Step 4: Verify Power and Control

Toggle the left outlet, then the right, then both, to confirm the hub split them into two switches.

Network Pairing Walkthrough

Recommended steps for smart network inclusion and initial setup.

01

Step 1: Scan the DSK Before Mounting

Pair near the hub first, then scan the 25-digit DSK code on the packaging box; mounting it outside before pairing is the usual failure.

02

Step 2: Power On and Wait

Plug it into the GFCI outlet and leave it; SmartStart joins within 10 minutes and the hub creates both endpoints.

03

Step 3: Tune the Parameters

Set Param 2 for the left outlet's auto-off timer and Param 4 for outage behaviour.

04

Step 4: Test Both Outlets

Toggle the left outlet, then the right, then both, to confirm the hub split the endpoints.

❓

Troubleshooting FAQs

Direct solutions to common network, protocol, and pairing questions.

Q: Does it work with my security panel, and do I need a driver?

A: It pairs with any certified Z-Wave controller, but locked-down panels such as Ring and Vivint reject third-party multichannel devices. On Hubitat and SmartThings the Minoston driver is needed before both outlets appear.

Q: My hub only shows one outlet.

A: That is a driver problem, not hardware. The stock SmartThings handler collapses multichannel endpoints into one switch. Install the Minoston Edge driver, remove the device and re-add it.

Q: How far can the dual plug be from the hub?

A: 150 ft mesh, 1,300 ft line of sight on Long Range. It repeats for other Z-Wave devices, so mounting it between the hub and a distant sensor helps both.
