Z-Wave 800 Series Dual On/Off Smart Plug Complete Reference

⏱️

30-SECOND SUMMARY

Quick overview of hardware design, presets, and electrical capability.

The Minoston MP26Z is a Z-Wave 800 Series dual-outlet smart plug designed for reliable, secure control of two independent appliances. Operating at 908.42 MHz, it delivers 15A/1,875W with 10A/1,250W tungsten and 1/2 HP motor ratings, exposing each socket as its own endpoint. With Z-Wave Long Range support, it can reach up to 1,300 feet when paired with a compatible LR hub in ideal conditions. S2 authenticated security and SmartStart simplify secure setup, while FCC Part 15B and Z-Wave Plus certification confirm US radio compliance and interoperability. Compatible with Z-Wave hubs such as SmartThings, Hubitat, Home Assistant, and HomeSeer, it puts each outlet on its own timer and automation.

Physical Installation & Safety

⚠️
INSTALLATION & SAFETY CHECKLIST: 1 Both outlets share 15A 1875W 2 Tungsten capped at 10A 1250W 3 Indoor dry location only
01

Step 1: Choose the Right Location

Pick an indoor grounded 125 V receptacle clear of metal furniture that would shield the radio.

02

Step 2: Plug Into the Wall Receptacle

Push the plug fully in until it sits flush; both outlets share one 15 A budget.

03

Step 3: Connect the Load

Plug the two loads into the left and right outlets and keep their combined draw within 15 A / 1875 W.

04

Step 4: Verify Power and Control

Toggle the left outlet, then the right, then both, to confirm the hub split them into two switches.

Network Pairing Walkthrough

Recommended steps for smart network inclusion and initial setup.

01

Step 1: Scan the DSK Code

Open the hub's SmartStart screen and scan the 25-digit DSK code on the packaging box.

02

Step 2: Power On and Wait

Plug it in and leave it; SmartStart joins within 10 minutes and the hub interviews both endpoints before you rename them.

03

Step 3: Tune the Parameters

Set Param 2 through Param 5 for the per-outlet timers and Param 6 for outage behaviour.

04

Step 4: Test Both Outlets

Toggle left, then right, then both, then run one automation on a single outlet.

❓

Troubleshooting FAQs

Direct solutions to common network, protocol, and pairing questions.

Q: How do I control the two outlets separately?

A: The plug is one node with two endpoints, so the hub must create a child device. Install the Minoston driver for the MP26Z before including it, otherwise the hub exposes a single switch for both outlets.

Q: Both outlets switch together no matter which one I press.

A: That is the driver collapsing the two endpoints into one switch. Install the Minoston driver, then remove and re-add the device so the hub creates the second child endpoint.

Q: Does it repeat the Z-Wave signal?

A: Yes, it is mains powered. Placing it between the hub and a distant device is often enough to steady a weak node, and it repeats for every non-Long-Range device on the network.
