Physical Installation & Safety

⚠️
INSTALLATION & SAFETY CHECKLIST: 1 Phone on a 2.4 GHz band during setup 2 Tungsten capped at 5A , Load within 15A 1875W 3 GFCI outlet, vertical mount, 2 ft above ground
01

Step 1: Choose the Right Location

Mount on a GFCI-protected outdoor outlet under cover, 2 ft above grade and inside 2.4 GHz coverage.

02

Step 2: Mount the Plug

Hook the keyhole slot over the supplied screw and anchor so the receptacles face down.

03

Step 3: Connect the Load

Plug the fixture into the plug's own outlet, cap the free socket, and keep tungsten under 5 A.

04

Step 4: Verify Power and Metering

Pair over Bluetooth, let the load run a minute, then confirm the wattage reading matches the fixture.

❓

Troubleshooting FAQs

Direct solutions to common network, protocol, and pairing questions.

Q: Does the metering need a hub?

A: No. It is Wi-Fi and reports through the Minoston app, Smart Life, Alexa or Google. There is no Z-Wave radio and no hub involved.

Q: The wattage reading is much lower than expected.

A: Check the load type. A pump or compressor has a poor power factor, so the plug reports real power, which is lower than the VA figure on the nameplate. That is correct behaviour.

Q: How far can it be from the router?

A: About 300 ft in open air, limited by your Wi-Fi at the outlet. A pump house or detached garage behind two walls usually needs a mesh node or an outdoor access point nearby.
